HealthTap Review – How Much Does HealthTap Cost?

HealthTap provides 24/7 telehealth access to online doctor. Patients can ask questions about health conditions and receive prescriptions, referrals, and second opinions with ease.

This platform offers a free basic plan and an upgraded Prime plan at $15 per month, both of which accept insurance copays, HSA/FSA payments, and more.

  • Prime Plan

Basic Plan

HealthTap is an affordable primary and urgent care telehealth clinic offering top-notch healthcare to all Americans, regardless of insurance status. Their cutting-edge applications, information tools, and electronic health records adhere to the highest possible data security protocols when connecting patients and physicians online.

Users can subscribe to a Basic plan for $30 each, which includes live video consultations with doctors trained in your area of concern. If you don’t have insurance, users can pay for these consultations out-of-pocket.

Prime members can text with their preferred primary care doctor at no cost and book video appointments for $44 (or the cost of their insurance copay) each. Furthermore, the company provides 24/7 on-demand urgent care visits as well as access to 90,000 U.S. licensed doctors across 147 specialties from its network.

HealthTap doctors specialize in a range of medical fields, from general medical conditions to mental and behavioral health, online therapy, sexual health, travel medicines, chronic care management, senior care issues and wellness/prevention. Furthermore, they can write prescriptions for customers within the United States.

Prime Plan

HealthTap Prime is a subscription-based service that enables users to video chat with doctors through an app. For $99 per month (plus $10 for each additional family member), users can take advantage of unlimited video chatting sessions with no wait times.

HealthTap began as a question-and-answer site where users submitted medical queries to an army of doctors. But now the company has transformed into a full-service telemedicine platform, providing live consultations and access to its database of 1.9 billion doctor answers.

Telemedicine may seem like an attractive alternative to in-person visits for some, however it still has limitations. Doctors cannot write prescriptions for narcotics or medications for mental illness; lifestyle medications like weight loss pills or male enhancement drugs are also unavailable via telemedicine.

One-to-One Consults

HealthTap charges a flat fee per consultation or you can opt for their Prime plan, which grants unlimited visits at an even cheaper rate. Your insurance company may cover part or all of the cost depending on your plan’s details.

At your appointment with a doctor, you’ll get personalized attention through video conference or text chat. Your physician will review your case, make a diagnosis and write a prescription to address any needs.

HealthTap doctors can issue doctor’s orders for lab tests and referrals to specialists, plus members have access to their medical records and reminders for follow-up appointments online.

HealthTap began in 2010 and since then, has attracted 60,000 physicians to its network – licensed and approved practitioners included. Doctors who join the site can use it for building their reputation, consulting with peers, and increasing patient traffic.

Medication

HealthTap provides telemedicine services that can diagnose and treat a variety of medical issues. Patients can book one-on-one consultations with physicians via computer, tablet or iPhone/Android mobile device.

The service also allows doctors to order lab tests and write or refill prescriptions. With 90,000 U.S.-licensed physicians on board, this platform uses proprietary technology to connect patients with qualified providers within their field.

However, it’s essential to note that these telemedicine services aren’t meant for emergency cases that need quick intervention. Instead, the company focuses on primary care and wellness.

HealthTap provides two plans to pay for its telemedicine services: the basic plan (free) and Prime plan ($15 monthly billed in three monthly increments). Both options require a subscription fee of zero; the former requires no payment upfront and doesn’t require payment until after three months have elapsed).
